We're the first to admit the Civic Si will be a wallflower's worst nightmare, because this is one car that differs from the competition. So if you're comfortable standing out from the crowd, congratulations, you've found your motoring match.
It's a practical 5-door hatch with the dynamic, sporty look of a 3-door. The concealed rear door handles combine with a sleek, wedge shape to give this car an undeniable presence.
Beautifully finished, perforated black leather* seats envelop and embrace you, and have been created to better fit the body so passengers sit in rather than on them.
The dash is based on Honda's Dual Link Concept, which organises driver information in a rational way. The primary point of focus is a digital speedometer at the top of the dash, flanked by a rev indicator and an Eco indicator. The lower level houses a tachometer, fuel & temperature gauge, and a multi information display which incorporates a comprehensive trip computer.
* Leather includes some PVC vinyl material.

Honda's Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) combines with an advanced Traction Control System (TCS) to monitor individual wheel speed, steering angle and lateral G-force. If it detects oversteering, understeering or traction loss, it can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine speed to help keep you in constant control.
The system helps prevent wheelspin during acceleration on slippery road surfaces or when the available grip differs from one side of the vehicle to the other.

The 1.8 litre i-VTEC engine features intelligent valve timing, giving you the performance of a powerful 2.0 litre with the fuel efficiency of a 1.6 litre. Generating 103kW of power, it uses just 6.9 litres of fuel per 100km*.
*The fuel consumption figure is based on ADR81/02 combined test results for Civic Si manual transmission.
The Civic Si comes with a specifically designed, lightweight 6-speed manual transmission or an optional, electronically controlled 5-speed automatic. Whichever you choose, both transmissions feature Honda's legendary levels of refinement and reliability.
Look closely and you'll see the stunning exterior details that make the Civic Si so unique. Triangular fog lamps, dual exhausts, concealed rear door handles, and tailgate glass with integrated spoiler. It's one very smart design.
A 6-speaker audio system will keep your ears happy, whilst the steering wheel-mounted controls will keep your eyes on the road. The CD player reads discs encoded with MP3 and WMA music files and an auxiliary jack and USB input allow you take your entire digital media collection on the road. And to top it all off, full iPod integration is included. #
The driver and front passenger are protected by front and side SRS airbags. The front airbags have a dual-stage deployment system matched to the severity of a crash. In addition, full-length curtain SRS airbags wrap front and rear occupants in a wall of protective cushioning.
Not only do the rear Magic Seats fold flat to the floor to accommodate cargo, but the seat bases also flip up, allowing tall and awkward shapes to be stowed easily. It can even take a full size bicycle directly from the kerbside.
The versatility of the Civic Si puts it in a class of it own. Lift the hatch to reveal 415 litres of unobstructed space. That's enough for 3 golf bags. And with the rear seats folded, load space increases to 1,282 litres (to the window line).
Air conditioning with dual-zone climate control allows the driver and front passenger to set their own temperature. The glovebox is also climate controlled, adding a 'fridge-like' cooling feature.
An ambient light sensor detects low-light conditions and switches the headlights on automatically when required. Similarly, a rain sensor activates the wipers when the first drops of rain fall.
The Civic Si is fitted with a cruise control system, including steering wheel-mounted controls for precise fingertip control. It takes the strain out of highway driving and can even boost your fuel economy on the open road.
This clever feature makes parking a lot safer. When you select reverse gear, the system detects objects in range of the rear bumper sensors. Depending on distance, a series of audible beeps will sound, alerting you to potential hazards.
In the unlikely event of a collision, Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure offers high levels of occupant protection and energy absorption abilities between vehicles of different sizes.
In addition to an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) the Civic Si also has Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) which adjusts brake effort to achieve maximum braking performance and stability.
Using a range of electronic sensors, the Civic Si detects an air pressure reduction of 30% or more in any of the four tyres and warns the driver that there may be a possible puncture.
The multi-information display alerts you to safety issues before they’re a worry. You'll know if the doors are fully closed and that all passengers have their seatbelt on before you start driving.
# iPod is integrated through audio display for iPod Nano and iPods from 5th Generation onwards. Older iPod models will only operate through the audio system and firmware updates may be required for audio display compatibility. Please refer to your iPod User Guide for information on iPod firmware updates.
